Noi’s Farm is a platform introducing children and young people to experimental Sound. Through storytelling, live performance and deep listening workshops, Noi’s Farm focuses on the individual sonic experience – allowing young people to think creatively about sound and music.

Presently, we are constructing a series of radio plays targeted at children. Using narrative to explore ideas in soundscapes, alternative music production and live improvisation, we are interested in allowing the radiophonic medium to breathe life into the overall work. Compositionally we create specific soundscapes or audio landmarks, which are improvised on and around, allowing for the possibility of chance happenings and one off recordings.

In response to the Sonic Little Cat open call, we would like to submit a track from the Noi’s Farm Episode, Sleep or Sail. This track demonstrates how fabricated soundscapes may be applied to represent/aid the voice of characters within the play – personifying emotions & the sonic environment. These soundscapes are interwoven within layers of dialogue and other more minimal background sounds.
