TWIN FLAME - The Sexual She Was (AI Text)

TWIN FLAME is a solo project that focuses on themes related to dream territories, trans-gressive art, the Occult, evocative narrative, new technologies, sci-fi tales, J.G. Ballard dystopias and alchemical sound.

​Behind the project is Verónica Mota who has stablished herself as a political and provocative creative worker from Berlin operating professionally in artistic fields such as sound art, music, radio, sound design, video and ritualistic body art performance.

This track was produced in collaboration with Mike Bonsall (Lyrics) who gave life to a JG Ballard Artificial IntelligenceI editing text.

Bonsall set up the ‘Ballard Artificial Intelligence’ using a Torch deep learning recurrent neural network. The network was originally ‘trained’ using Ballard’s text of The Atrocity Exhibition, then fed the complete two million words of his published work, needing sixteen days of processing to produce an output. The resulting text is notable for its unheimlich qualities, at once both Ballardian and mechanical, like some textual uncanny valley.

Mike Bonsall has spent many years working on JG Ballard projects; digitizing, reimagining, transposing, cutting-up, concordancing, collaging and bricollaging, in an endless attempt to decode the genius of Ballard’s vision. The results of many of these experiments can be seen at digital-ballard.com.
